2023 ISDAK Spring Welcome Party

I notice that it is already July and the cicadas have begun to sing. I can feel the smell of summer today.

Now, I would like to rewind the time quite a bit and introduce the Spring Welcome Party held on April 23. The theme of the party was "Super Mario Bros." It is no exaggeration to say that there were many games based on one of the famous Japanese game company's game, which is well-known among both Japanese and international students, such as "Yoshi's Egg Hunt," "Pedometer Dance Game," "Ring Toss Game," "Scavenger Hunt," "Toilet Paper Spinning," "100 g Sense Game," "Boccia". The "Yoshi's Egg Hunt" was especially exciting. The game was a team competition in which teams had to collect as many eggs as possible hidden in the dormitory without being caught by staff members dressed as Yoshi. Each team was creative in the battle for the eggs, and a heated game of tag with Yoshi was also seen. I guess we were all happy that there were sweets hidden in those eggs too!

Afterwards, we could enjoy food and drink while watching performances by outside groups. They performed dance, comedy, and aikido, which is a rare and valuable performance that we don’t often see. The participants were very interested in Japanese performing arts. At the end of the event, a bingo tournament was held. It was a wonderful game with many gorgeous prizes, and everyone got a prize. When the first bingo was awarded, there was a big round of applause, and it was a wonderful time to feel the sense of unity at ISDAK.

The restrictions imposed by COVID-19 have gradually been lifted and new life has begun again, so this party was difficult in many ways, but it was a great success with more participants than we expected. It was an event that made us realize how nice it is to live in an international dormitory, and how wonderful ISDAK is.

Next up is the Summer Farewell Party! HERE WE GO!!
